Taj Lake Palace Udaipur India

This suite is aptly named Chandra Prakash, which means Luster of the Moon. The crown jewel of a 250-year-old pleasure palace constructed by Maharana Jagat Singh II in 1746, this suite was later used as the court of Maharana Bhopal Singh in the 1930s. Gilt moldings, sinuously carved marble and intricate ceiling frescoes add to the suites elaborate decoration. Situated on an island in Indias Lake Pichola, the hotel was used as Octopussys lair in the 1983 James Bond film and has long been a destination for European royalty and American celebrities.
